Evan Blass, also known as EvLeaks, showed renders of the 9RT Hacker Silver Color variant on Twitter.

From this image, we can tell that the focal length will be 14-23mm (it's engraved on the camera island), which is different from the 14-26mm of the 9R (its predecessor.) This confirms that the primary camera will be the one of the 9 and 9 Pro, which also has a focal length of 23mm.

Ishan Agarwal also posted renders of the 9RT, showing it from multiple angles.

Last but not least, TechDroider revealed that the 9RT will be announced on the 13th of October, and confirmed that the device will feature the IMX766 sensor. It will also get a 120Hz display, just like the 9R.

Today, on the 16th of September, a Twitter user (named TechnoAnkit1) posted a screenshot of the alleged 9RT being 3C certified. The 9RT's model number tag is likely MT2110 and it should support 65W charging (which the 8T, Nord 2 and 9 (Pro) already have.)

The day before yesterday, on the 13th of September, OnLeaks tweeted that the launch date of the OnePlus 9RT is on October 15th. This could be true, as OnePlus announced T-devices in October before.

OnePlus announced a relatively cheap flagship, called the "9R" in India only a few months ago. Now, the rumour mill has already started spinning about a successor: the 9RT. The device will allegedly launch in October, according to a source in a conversation with Android Central.

The 9RT will not differ much from the 9R; it's still a phone with a 120Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 870, 4500mAh battery and 65W charging. There will however be a camera upgrade. The IMX586 (the same sensor as in the 7(T)-series and OnePlus 8T) will be replaced by an IMX766, which is a 50MP sensor and is also present in the OnePlus Nord 2, 9 and 9 Pro. Do remember that, just like with the 9R, it will be only available in China and India.

Another change that comes with the 9RT, is that the device will be launched with Android 12 (with OxygenOS 12 on top of it). It will be the first OnePlus device to launch with Android 12. OxygenOS 12 (and OxygenOS 11.3, which runs on the OnePlus Nord 2) are based on ColorOS, which was announced with the codebase merge. One of the features OxygenOS 12 is getting, which is also ported from ColorOS, is "Floating Windows". This is a feature which allows you to resize windows anywhere on your screen. OxygenOS 12 will also feature a theme store, as well as new privacy features. For more details regarding those features, click here (the author of of Android Central's article managed to obtain an internal build.)

According to Android Central's source, OnePlus plans to announce the first OxygenOS 12 closed beta by the end of August (they already announced the program), which is less than two weeks from now on. It is expected that the public beta (also called the "Open Beta") will roll out before October. An official announcement should be there in just over five weeks. OxygenOS 12 will look almost the same as OxygenOS 11.3. OnePlus Launcher, Zen Mode, Work-Life Balance, Scout and Shelf will still be a thing in the brand new OxygenOS version.

OxygenOS should, based on history and expectations, come to the following devices:

  • OnePlus 7
  • OnePlus 7 Pro / 7 Pro 5G
  • OnePlus 7T
  • OnePlus 7T Pro / 7T Pro McLaren
  • OnePlus 7T
  • OnePlus 8
  • OnePlus 8 Pro
  • OnePlus 8T
  • OnePlus 9
  • OnePlus 9 Pro
  • OnePlus 9R
  • OnePlus Nord
  • OnePlus Nord CE
  • OnePlus Nord 2
  • OnePlus Nord N200

The Nord N10 and Nord N100 will obviously not get it, as they only get one major update, which they already received (Android 11.)
