OnePlus published timeline of OxygenOS 11 for OnePlus-devices

The OnePlus Nord will get an OxygenOS 11-based Open Beta next week. 7(T)-series follows later

OnePlus recently came with a statement on their Chinese forums, saying that they are running into problems regarding preparing HydrogenOS 11 for the 7(T)-series. This was related to a decryption problem after running the HydrogenOS 11 upgrade. Now, a few weeks later, OnePlus made a post on the global OnePlus Forums - explaining why OxygenOS 11 is delayed for the 7(T)-series and when other OnePlus devices will receive the update.

According to the company, the OnePlus Nord will receive its first OxygenOS 11 Open Beta somewhere next week. Once Open Beta builds are qualified as stable and they gathered enough feedback from users, a build will be pushed to the stable branch.

As for the OnePlus 7(T)-series, it seems that OnePlus has fixed the decryption issue that existed. They have worked closely with Qualcomm to fix this issue. An Open Beta is expected soon, as OnePlus tested a Closed Beta based on OxygenOS 11. This was expected, as Android 11 is listed as compatible for the OnePlus 7(T)-series on the Google Play Console since about a week. It is likely that OnePlus will release an Open Beta for the 7(T)-series after the OnePlus Nord got its first Open Beta.

OnePlus 6(T), Nord N10 5G and Nord N100 need to wait longer; it is unknown when, but OnePlus said they will keep the users posted on more details.

Timeline OxygenOS 11

Note that this timeline is based on both OnePlus' statement and our personal expectations

So, to summarise:

  • OnePlus Nord: an Open Beta next week. A stable will likely follow in February.
  • OnePlus 7(T)-series: Closed Beta testing is on-going. A first Open Beta is likely coming in the coming weeks.
  • OnePlus 6(T), Nord N10 5G, Nord N100: they didn't say when the update will roll out for the 6(T), N10 5G and N100, but based on previous records with 5(T)/3(T) we think they may roll it out in Q2 2021.

NOTE: OnePlus says that "the schedule may vary for models purchased from our carrier partners, including Verizon, T-Mobile, EE, and others.", meaning it may take more time before OxygenOS 11 will land on carrier-devices.
