Android 8 "Oreo" - Now available for OnePlus 5T

A beta version of OxygenOS 5.0 is now available for the OnePlus 5T!

It contains the latest and greatest in terms of android versions: Android 8.0 "Oreo". It also has some minor new features, such as updated security patches and better Wi-Fi stability.

A really cool feature worth mentioning is "Parallell Apps". Parallell apps allows you to have multiple instances of the same app. This is handy for social (network) apps, such as Whatsapp and Facebook. You can now have both your work and personal account on one phone.

Important information about the beta version:

If you chose to upgrade to the beta version, you won't lose any files and settings.

However, it's not very easy to go back to the stable version. It requires you to wipe your phone and set it up as if it were new. OnePlus has made instructions available to do so on their forums.

For users with a rooted device / custom recovery:

Please note, that automatic update installation using Oxygen Updater might fail, as TWRP recovery currently has some issues on Android 8.0 "Oreo". Be prepared to install some updates manually or using the stock recovery mode.
