Today, on the 17th of February, OnePlus has officially announced the Nord CE 2 which is the successor of the regular Nord CE (launched on the 10th of June 2021). The previously rumoured specifications seemed correct: compared to its predecessor, the Nord CE 2 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC along with 65W charging, a micro SD slot and 2MP macro sensor.

The MediaTek SoC has two Cortex A78-cores running at 2.4GHz with 6 additional power saving A55 cores that run at 2GHz. The GPU is a Mali G68 MC4. Both chips are produced with TSMC's 6nm node. There are two configurations available in India: one with 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage along with 8GB of LPDDR4x memory, and 6GB with 128GB. For Europe there's just one configuration: 128GB of storage along with 8GB RAM. The phone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. It also has a 6.43" full HD display that has a refresh rate of 90Hz, which is also HDR10+ certified and Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The device has three cameras on the back: the primary camera is a 64MP one with an aperture of f/1.7, while the second and third camera are an ultra-wide of 8MP and a macro camera of 2MP. The selfie camera is a 16MP one. The camera set-up has a feature called 'dual-view video' which allows the phone to record both the rear and the front simultaneously. The battery is a 4500mAh one and supports 65W wired fast charging. Just like the Nord CE and Nord N-series devices, the Nord CE 2 has a 3.5mm jack port and a USB-C 2.0 port. The device will be released in two colours: Grayg Mirror and Bahama Blue. The Nord CE 2 5G is shipped with Android 11 and will get an upgrade to Android 12 in the second half of 2022. It will also get two Android upgrades and three years of security updates. The device will be available in India from the 22nd of February and Europe for respectively ₹23,999 for the 6GB+128GB model and ₹24,999 for the 8GB+256GB model. In Europe it will be available from the 10th of March for €349/£299. However, there will be a pre-sale on the 3rd of March.

OnePlus has announced their Nord CE at the 10th of June 2021, as a cheaper alternative of the OnePlus Nord. Now, the company is allegedly coming with a successor of the phone: the OnePlus Nord 2 CE (codename being Ivan and model number being IV2201). Yogesh Brar, in cooperation with 91Mobiles leaked both renders and specifications of the new phone.

The phone is supposed to come with a 6.4" AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The SoC (System-on-Chip) is a MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G (Nord CE had a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G). There will be two storage options: 128 and 256GB. It will be the first OnePlus phone to run OxygenOS 12 (based on Android 12) out of the box, but that won't be the new 'unified OS' of OPPO and OnePlus, as that will come with the launch of the OnePlus 10-series. Furthermore, the Nord 2 CE will support 65W wired charging, which is an upgrade compared to the 30W wired charging of the Nord CE. The battery is 4500mAh. When it comes to cameras, the Nord 2 CE has a 64MP primary camera, 8MP ultra-wide angle and 2MP macro camera. The front camera is 16MP. It features an in-display fingerprint scanner, but not an alert-slider. It however does feature a 3.5mm jack like the Nord CE.

The phone is supposed to launch at the end of January or mid-February for about Rs 24,000 to Rs 28,8000 or 300 to 350 euros.
