OnePlus has been developing audio products for a while now, and has been offering TWS earbuds for a few years as well. The company unveiled the Buds Pro 2 concurrently with the OnePlus 11 earlier this year. Recently, OnLeaks collaborated with MySmartPrice to leak the Buds 3 renders and specifications. Notably, OnLeaks leaked the renders, not the specifications.

The design of the OnePlus Buds 3 is strikingly similar to that of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, as you may have already noticed. MySmartPrice reports that the renders are based on the testing phase stage; hence, the design may be subject to change before the official launch. The earbuds possess a metallic finish and at 4.77 grams per earbud, the Buds 3 will be lighter than the Buds Pro 2. The case is also lighter in weight.

The Buds 3 include two drivers: a 10.4mm woofer and a 6mm tweeter. It also features 48dB active noise cancellation, on par with the Buds Pro 2, and an IP55 rating that offers protection against water and dust up to a specific pressure point. However, the case holds an IPX4 rating, which signifies it can only resist minimal splashes. Moreover, the earbuds are equipped with Bluetooth 5.3, Google Fast Pair, and dual connection support.

The Buds 3 will deliver 9 hours of battery life without active noise cancellation, which can be extended to a total of 33 hours with the charging case. If active noise cancellation is enabled, the earbuds can last for roughly 6 hours and 22 hours with the charging case. Each earbud comes equipped with a 58mAh battery, while the case has a 520mAh battery.  Additionally, the earbuds support fast charging; just 10 minutes of charging will provide up to 5 hours of listening time.

The official launch of the Buds 3 is anticipated to coincide with the release of the OnePlus 12 in January 2024.
