Renders and specifications of the upcoming OnePlus 12R have been leaked
Since the OnePlus 9 series, OnePlus has been releasing R versions of its high-end smartphones for the Indian market - such as the 9R, 9RT, 10R and 11R. This time around, the OnePlus 12R is set to launch alongside the upcoming OnePlus 12. Although the launch is still quite some time away, MySmartPrice has already got the spec sheet and renders of the OnePlus 12R, thanks to leaker OnLeaks.
Design
The OnePlus 12R should have a slightly curved display, which seems to be similar to that of the 11R. There's a hole-punch in the middle of the screen for the front camera, and it has a slim chin and bezels on the sides. The renders also show three cameras on the back and a flash. There are also volume keys, an alert-slider and a power button. The fingerprint scanner is located under the display. On the bottom of the phone we see a USB-C port, a microphone and a speaker.
Specs
In terms of specs, the 12R is expected to get a pretty significant upgrade: the SoC is said to be a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, along with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The cameras are also getting an upgrade, with a 32MP telephoto camera (which has support for two times optical zoom) added to the back of the phone. A 50MP primary camera and 8MP ultra-wide camera remain the same. The front camera is a 16MP one.
The display is rumoured to be a 6.7-inch curved 1.5K AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate. The battery is a 5500mAh one that can be charged at 100W. The device will run OxygenOS 14, which is based on Android 14. The OnePlus 12R could be released in China in January 2024.
