The OnePlus Nord CE 2 has been released on February 17th, 2022. It is the successor of the OnePlus Nord CE and shipped with OxygenOS 11.3 (with ColorOS codebase) out of the box. We extracted its two static wallpapers on March 13th, 2022, and you can download them from here. Further, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 has received several updates since its launch and the latest one, OxygenOS A.12, bumped Android security patch level to April 2022 and fixed a bug that caused devices to not alert you about incoming calls.

Yesterday (May 16th, 2022), OnePlus has announced an OxygenOS 12 Closed Beta program for the device. Similarly to other devices closed beta programs (9RT, 7,7T-series and Nord 2, original Nord), it will be focused solely on the OxygenOS 12 update and thus should last for approximately 2-3 months. Likewise, it is only opened to users located in India. You should not expect any build in this program to be stable or polished. If you're accepted, your role will consist in finding and reporting OS bugs to OnePlus so that any critical issues will be fixed ahead of public release.

Up to 200 users will be accepted into the closed beta program, but they will have to meet a few requirements:

  • own an Indian OnePlus Nord CE 2
  • be comfortable with taking backups and restoring them (as builds might sometimes require a clean flash therefore lead to data loss)
  • be willing to constantly communicate and provide feedback to OnePlus' staff on Telegram
  • be an active OnePlus Community member

Besides these requirements, OnePlus may also filter applications based on your other parameters in the survey (e.g. how many times you use your phone per day or your current occupation). Users providing exceptional feedback may be eligible to some gifts.

Joining this crew will require you to sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) with OnePlus, meaning you will NOT be allowed to share builds and any content related to it with anyone.

Note: These closed beta builds can be unstable, and we don't recommend applying if you're not experienced in beta testing, or if you're not aware on rollback/downgrade procedures. If you're accepted, OnePlus will provide guides anyway, but we recommend familiarizing yourself with the process beforehand.
